This very special announcement comes from our CEO, Eric Edelson
I’m thrilled to share the news that we’re expanding our California Factory to Washington State!
Yesterday we became the new owners of Quarry Tile Company, a Spokane, WA-based tile maker, founded in 1965. We couldn’t be more excited to officially welcome Quarry’s family of owners and their 82 amazing tile artisans to the Fireclay Team.
This past June, we debuted our first collaboration with Quarry with our Essentials Collection, which has been by far our most successful product launch to date. Now with the help of Quarry’s 57 years of tile-making expertise and our new 122,000 SqFt Factory space in Washington, we’ll be able to greatly expand our tile offering with more beautiful new colors, in-stock options, faster lead times, new products, volume capabilities and competitive pricing for commercial projects.

This comes after a significant expansion to our original Aromas, CA Factory and HQ where we have increased our production and warehouse space by 4x and installed a second roller hearth kiln. With this effort now complete, our investment of over $26M into our new space and kilns will allow us to produce more handmade tile with reduced lead times, and increase our in-stock Quick Ship offering, all while supporting local job creation here in California.
With recent supply chain challenges, we believe that supporting US manufacturing is more important than ever. Choosing to be a fully vertically integrated business allows us direct visibility into the manufacturing and distribution of our products and our true social and environmental footprint. You can read more from our Impact Report here.

As a Certified B Corp that’s also employee-owned, we strive to be a model for transparency and inspire others to do business, better. This dedication to our mission ensures that we have the capacity and team necessary to support our growing business so that our quality products can be readily available at a wide variety of price points for both commercial and residential clients.

None of this would be possible without you, our clients, and your continued support of sustainable, American-made tile. We are also grateful to our investors, Santa Cruz County Bank, and the New Market Tax Credit program.
On behalf of our now 337 makers, we look forward to partnering with you on your next project and making the world’s most beautiful tile!
Tile to the People!
