From evergreen trends that have proven staying power to emerging trends that we think will fall into the timeless category, we’ve rounded up the best of the best. Let’s get into them!
What’s Still In: Trends That Are Here to Stay
Like classic subway tile and complementary color pairings, some things never go out of style. These are the trends that have and will continue to endure, beautifully.
Our #1 Forever: Sustainability
More than ever, people are seeking environmentally friendly options for their commercial and home decor–and as a Certified B Corp and Climate Neutral Certified company, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.

From waste reduction and recycling strategies to solar power to carbon offsetting, we’re committed to reducing our environmental impact. Plus, 100% of our products are made right here in the USA so we have a distinct advantage over imported tile thanks to our drastically reduced carbon footprint. Choosing Fireclay Tile means you're making a responsible choice for your home and the planet.

Color Drenching & the Shift Away from White
While white will always reign supreme in interiors, there’s been a noticeable shift away from all-white spaces that we foresee is here to stay–especially as design styles shift away from contemporary and lean toward traditional. Humans have always been drawn to bright objects, so it makes sense to incorporate our most beloved colors into our sacred spaces.

Take this idea and run with it by immersing your space in a single hue, which creates a cohesive and sophisticated look that will make a statement now and for years to come. Color drenching allows you to create a mood, highlight architectural details, and make a bold statement. We adore a fully tiled color-drenched space, but you can always achieve this look by pairing your tile accents with paints, colors matched to perfection as Elsie Larson from A Beautiful Mess did with her fireplace.

A fun take on this look is double drenching, shining a spotlight on two (or more!) dominant colors in a space. Boutique hotel Noble + Proper’s pink and green bathroom below is a stunning example of this look.

Texture, Texture, Texture
Adding depth and visual interest through texture continues to be an essential trend, as the meteoric rise in zellige demonstrates. Our American-made Glazed Thin Brick is both a more sustainable option to zellige and a beautiful way to bring in texture. The variation inherent in brick creates a look that’s both compelling and refined.

From Sarah Sherman Samuel to Shavonda Gardner to the Brownstone Boys, brick has always been a favorite material of top designers–because its versatility is unmatched. Suitable for interiors and exteriors, walls and floors, it’s the ideal way to include a touch of texture in a space. Plus, 1% of all of our Brick sales are donated to the National Parks Conservation Association so you can feel good about your purchase.

An Element of Surprise
Embrace the unexpected! A well-designed home should surprise and delight. Whether it's an unexpected accent, a unique tile shape, or playful color and pattern, don't be afraid to infuse your space with personality.

One fun way to express this trend is through the unexpected red theory (more on that below). There’s no better way to add a jolt of unexpected energy to your space than with a red accent.

Mosaic Magic
We’re continually blown away by the huge impact these tiny tiles have. From intricate patterns to monochromatic marvels, mosaic tile offers endless design possibilities–and since they’ve been beloved for centuries, there’s no chance of them going out of style anytime soon.
Tile: 1x1 + 1x6 Rosemary | Design: Alter Interiors | Image: Suzanna Scott | Installer: Vincent Mash Construction
Use mosaics to create a stunning floor, a captivating backsplash, or a one-of-a-kind shower. We’re seeing an emphasis on unique mosaic floor patterns, and we couldn’t love it more–creating your own signature design that encapsulates your personal style and preferences? Yes, please!
Traditional–With a Twist
Classic design elements are getting a modern refresh as the design world’s Overton window shifts to traditional style. Things like attractive wainscots and handsome architectural moldings have become highly desired in today’s interiors.
To bring this style into 2025, traditional silhouettes and patterns are now being layered with modern colors, unexpected textures, and decorative trim in every space from the living room and dining room to kitchens and bathrooms.
The shift back to traditional style also helps explain the general public’s obsession with checkerboard. This pattern has been beloved for decades, and has solidified itself as a look that transcends trendiness.

Reach New Heights
There’s no denying that vertically stacked tile is one of today’s most popular patterns, and for good reason. Stacking elongated tile long side up creates a feeling of height and adds a modern feel to any space.

Our 3x9 and 3x12 Ceramic or Glass Tile sizes are perfect for this look–Glass especially adds to the modern feel with its sleek, radiant surface. But Norman Brick, our larger of the two Glazed Thin Brick sizes, hits the sweet spot of height and texture in a space, making it an ideal choice for many designers.

What’s New: Promising Colors & Trends for 2025
While we love the classics, it's always exciting to see new trends emerge–especially when it comes to color. Here are the 2025 interior design color trends we predict will be big in the new year and beyond.
A Richer Take on Earthy Tones
Beige is taking a backseat to richer earth tones inspired by natural materials. Think chocolate brown, deep greens, warm neutrals, and muted ochres. Our bestselling Antique glaze is perfect for capturing this earthy, organic feel.

Or, embrace texture with this color choice in the form of our Glazed Thin Brick in Columbia Plateau.

Another tone making a splash this year is Cinnamon Slate, Benjamin Moore’s beautifully muted color of the year. This soft, soothing brownish purple is sure to add depth to any space, and you can find it in our dusty mauve glazes like Painted Sky.

Goodbye Cool, Hello Warmer Whites
Although a subtle difference, warmer whites can make all the difference in a space compared to cooler-toned shades. While there’s nothing wrong with cool whites–they especially shine in very well-lit, south-facing rooms–they can risk appearing stark or even cold, essentially the opposite of the homey, relaxed feel we all want to achieve in our spaces.
Tile: 2x8 Ivory | Design: Garza Interiors | Image: Lisa Petrole
Whites with ivory or subtle yellow undertones create a cozy and welcoming atmosphere from the kitchen to the bathroom. These shades work especially well if your space has little to no natural light.

Blue and Burgundy: Still a Winning Combo
This color combination is a match made in heaven. The cool tones of blue beautifully complement burgundy’s warmth, creating a sumptuous space that oozes sophistication.
To recreate the look with tile, we suggest pairing one of our soft blues like Morning Thaw, Caribbean, or Crater Lake with designer-favorite Vintage Leather from our Original Ceramic Tile product line, or Red Iron Oxide with Egyptian Blue from our Natural Press Ceramic Tile line shown below.
The Unexpected Red Theory
Red may seem to be a daunting hue but small pops of this bold color add energy and excitement to your space, according to the unexpected red theory. Regardless of the rest of your color palette, adding something red to your space instantly makes it more interesting.

Use it sparingly to create focal points and add a touch of personality–or go all in and create a gorgeous cherry bomb to energize your space.

As you explore the 2025 interior design trends, remember that the most important element is your personal style. Choose colors, textures, and patterns that speak to you and create a space that feels uniquely yours.
