12x24 Natural Press Ceramic Tile in Carmine Gloss

Our Natural Press Ceramic Tile is crafted at our historic tile factory in Spokane, WA using a pressed clay manufacturing method and finished with our hand-mixed glazes. Each of our 35+ colors comes in 17 shapes and sizes, in gloss and slip-resistant matte finishes. Natural Press is suitable for interior and exterior projects and is made in the USA.

Characteristics

Color Variation V2
Finish/Sheen Gloss
Thickness Approx. 5/16"

Body: Our Natural Press Clay Body is mixed in house using recycled content and fires to an earthy rich, red tone.

Variation: Each glaze is rated on a scale of V1 (low) to V4 (high) variation. Variation will appear tile to tile as a color shifts in hue or saturation. Variation in glaze sheen can also occur, where the surface finish can sometimes appear more matte or more glossy from tile to tile. Variation is expected but not guaranteed.

Crackle: Crackle is rated on a scale of low to heavy. All glazes can crackle over time depending on where they are installed therefore “low” crackle often appears as if there is no crackle. Some of our glazes are designed to feature this crackle. We recommend always sealing tile with a crackle finish at installation.

Considerations

  1. We recommend ordering 15% overage to accommodate cutting and any unexpected layout changes during installation.
  2. In the event that you need additional tile, please contact us immediately so we can help you process an Add-On order. Add-on orders will incur fees.
  3. Due to the handcrafted nature of our tile, size variance from 1/16" to 1/8" can be expected. Additionally, a deviation of ± 1/8" in straightness or flatness is considered acceptable.
  4. Our tile is not modular. It is difficult to combine sizes to achieve a pattern. Some skilled installers have had success creating modular installations, however the result tends to be wider or uneven grout joints.
  5. All tile is made to order. Please contact us for most up to date lead times. 800.773.2226 or hello@fireclaytile.com.
  6. Do not schedule an installer until tile is on site.
  7. All glazes, including matte or non-crackle options, are susceptible to crazing over time.

Installation

  1. Review the complete Installation Guide at fireclaytile.com before you begin. We strongly recommend an experienced professional installer.
  2. Handmade tile varies in size, shade, and flatness. Dry-lay and blend tile from multiple boxes, and build a mock-up before setting. Color and size claims can’t be accepted once tile is installed.
  3. Pools and submerged areas: Seal tile before installation with STONETECH Salt Water Resistant or Heavy Duty Exterior Sealer, and seal again before grouting.
  4. Set with a modified thinset meeting ANSI A118.4. For exteriors, use Laticrete 254 Platinum Plus. Suitable for exterior use only in non-freezing climates.
  5. Fireclay recommends a 3/16" grout joint.
  6. Pre-seal tile with a penetrating sealer before grouting and use grout release. Avoid dark or contrasting grout, which can permanently stain crazing and pits. Always test grout on a spare tile.
  7. Cut with a wet saw and diamond blade only (silica dust).
  8. Clean with pH-neutral products; never use vinegar or acidic cleaners.
