2x6 Glass Tile in Carolina Wren Gloss

2x6 Glass Tile in Carolina Wren Gloss

Discover a fresh take on Glass Tile, made in our Spokane, Washington Factory with design-forward colors hand-mixed in house. Each of our 35+ colors comes in 16 sizes, in both matte and gloss finishes. Because it’s impervious and passes freeze/thaw testing, Glass Tile is ideal for pools, showers, and wet areas inside and out.

Characteristics

Color Variation V1
Finish/Sheen Gloss

Body: Please note that the green hue of clear glass sheets can vary from batch to batch. This becomes most noticeable on whites. Every order will ship from the same batch of glass so there should be no variation within one order, but it is possible to see a slight color shift between a sample and the order.

Variation: Each glaze is rated on a scale of V1 (low) to V4 (high) variation. Variation will appear tile to tile as a color shifts in hue or saturation. Variation in glaze sheen can also occur, where the surface finish can sometimes appear more matte or more glossy from tile to tile. Variation is expected but not guaranteed.

Considerations

  1. We recommend ordering 15% overage to accommodate cutting and any unexpected layout changes during installation.
  2. In the event that you need additional tile, please contact us immediately so we can help you process an Add-On order. Add-on orders will incur fees.
  3. Due to the handcrafted nature of our tile, size variance from 1/16" can be expected.
  4. All tile is made to order. Please contact us for most up to date lead times. 800.773.2226 or hello@fireclaytile.com.
  5. Do not schedule an installer until tile is on site.

Installation

  1. Glass requires glass-specific methods. Review the full Glass Installation Guide at fireclaytile.com before starting; we strongly recommend an installer experienced with glass.
  2. Install an ANSI A118.12 crack isolation membrane over the entire substrate. Substrate must be flat, plumb, and stable; do not level with thinset.
  3. Set with white, polymer-modified thinset rated for glass. Never use mastic or premixed adhesives. Back-butter every tile and flatten trowel ridges, as ridges and air pockets will show through the glass.
  4. Include movement joints per TCNA guidelines at changes of plane, perimeters, and substrate transitions.
  5. Cut with a glass-specific wet saw blade. Drill at low speed with a diamond bit; never use a hammer drill.
  6. Maintain a minimum 1/16" joint. Use non-sanded grout only (urethane or epoxy preferred), as sanded grout will scratch. Remove haze immediately.
  7. For fixtures and doors: drill holes 1/8" oversize, isolate hardware with gaskets, avoid overtightening, and install solid backing during framing.
  8. Glass tile does not require sealing. If using cement grout, seal after cure per the grout manufacturer.
