2026 Design Trends You Won’t Regret in 10 Years

2026 Design Trends You Wont Regret in 10 Years

No one wants to design a space only to have it feel dated by the following year—especially with a material as durable and permanent as tile. That’s why our trend forecast focuses on elements that transcend short cycles. From timeless mosaic patterns to thoughtful color drenching, we've compiled the top interior design trends of 2026 that celebrate timelessness and integrity.

Our goal is to ensure your projects feel intentional, authentic, and iconic, now and for the long haul—without the pressure of chasing every social media trend. Let’s get into the list.

1. Bold, Intentional Color

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to ditch the subdued palettes, this is it. Interior design trends for 2026 point toward homeowners craving more authenticity and personal expression, leading to design choices that are vibrant and deeply personal. We’re seeing a fearless embrace of saturation and color drenching where deep tones fully immerse a space.

These are colors you’re meant to experience, that transport with depth and dimension and make rooms feel atmospheric. More on trending colors below, but for the sake of this design concept the color palettes we’re seeing more of are rich, saturated jewel tones like GarnetEvergreen, and Tempest.

2. The New Maximalism: Plaid & Gingham Tile

Once something only the boldest of designers would dare, plaid and gingham tile patterns are entering the mainstream to great effect. It makes sense—such classic geometric textile patterns easily and beautifully translate to tile design in a more intentional form of maximalism.

If the thought of plaid tile is still a little too intimidating, keep the pattern on the floor to make the design feel grounded and natural. You can microdose the look with interlocking tiles in similar colorways that create a larger pattern, or fully embrace this aesthetic with richer colors like the bathroom below.

3. Ceramic Bath Handles: Your New Conversation Piece

For decades, bathroom fixtures have been a predictable category—but we’re here to say, not anymore. Our Fireclay Bath industry-first ceramic handles are a new hallmark of elevated design. They are, simply put, unlike anything else on the market.

4. The Timeless Luxury of Mosaic Tile

It turns out the adage is true: great design lives in the details. 2026 interior design celebrates the small but high-impact statements that Mosaic Tile makes. We’re seeing a definite preference for the tinier, more intricate shapes, especially in custom or semi-custom arrangements.

5. High Variation Glazes

One of the most beautiful ways to communicate a tile’s quality and artisan craftsmanship is through handcrafted color variation. One of our favorite 2026 interior design trends celebrates surfaces that openly show the hand of the maker: high variation glazes.

These glazes feature natural movement and a beautiful range of tonal depth due to the alchemy of the kiln—ensuring that no two tiles are exactly alike. Our Studio Glazes are the perfect example of dramatic color variation, with the designer-favorite spectrum of Golden Hour or the oceanic hues of Mackerel creating tile installations that are truly one of a kind.

6. A Callback to Vintage Bathrooms

We’re seeing a thoughtful return to the elements of the vintage bathroom—a look that prioritizes inherent charm and enduring quality (we’ve always loved you, pink and mint bathrooms). In terms of tile, this means a focus on classic shapes like squares in a timeless stacked pattern and offset field and subway tiles.

One of our favorite ways to marry modern bathroom design with vintage charm is through tile paired with clawfoot tubs. Intentional tile color and pattern design, like a classic checkerboard in sophisticated hues, paired with a vintage tub creates a timeless space that perennially feels fresh.

7. Creamy, Warm Interiors

Neutrals aren’t going anywhere, but they are continuing to shift from cool to warm. We’re seeing a clear preference toward ivory, cream, and warm white tile. These shades create a versatile, timeless, and easy-to-design-with space that inherently radiates warmth. It’s an especially simple trick to make a small space or spaces that lack natural light feel more inviting.

To keep it from feeling too safe, we recommend installing your warm neutral tile in an unexpected pattern, like the kitchen above. And as tile color experts ourselves, some of our favorite warm white tiles are FeldsparIvoryFlake WhiteDove and Sweet Pea.

8. Elevated Architectural Details

We love seeing more architectural elements that elevate a room’s bones, making the space feel instantly custom—elements like architectural molding used to cap tile wainscoting, contrasting trim that defines a border, and patterned mosaic floor borders. Integrated details that give a space a sense of history and elegance.

9. Sustainable Design

Our final “trend” is evergreen, and a core conviction. Sustainability is no longer a fringe option,  but a foundational requirement. The conscious client is prioritizing materials that reflect environmental and social responsibility. This is where your design choices matter.

The 2026 Color Trend Report

Colors in 2026 are about emotional resonance—shades and hues that evoke comfort, depth, and a sense of sophisticated luxury. These are the colors we anticipate seeing more of:

Mellow (and Not-So-Mellow) Yellow

Soft and approachable butter yellow is already making a splash, and we anticipate seeing an increase of interiors bathed in shades of the happiest color. From green-tinged Mustard Seed to luscious Haystack, pastel Chickadee, and, yes, butter-hued Sparrow, yellow tile adds inherent warmth to any space and acts as a refined neutral with character.

Moody Reds and Deep Purples

Muted tones like deep plum and wine-reds offer incredible sophistication and work beautifully in spaces where you want to create a rich, enveloping atmosphere, particularly in rooms that are small or more intimate. Try KalamataGarnet, or Carmine to achieve this elegant look.

Avocado Green

Avocado green brings the natural world indoors, but with a complex, muted undertone and subtle retro energy. The earthy shade feels both nostalgic and modern, and we can’t get enough of it in tile form. Our Sap Green and Chaparral glazes capture this shade beautifully.

Rich, Foundational Browns

Organic tones like chocolate brown provide a powerful anchor to a space, evoking natural materials and a sense of timeless refinement—wood paneling, chesterfields, quiet luxury. A deep, chocolate brown tile like Tiger’s Eye or Burnt Umber offers a sophisticated contrast to warm whites and creamy neutrals.

The Curve Ball: Periwinkle

Unexpected and interesting, periwinkle is the wild card color of the year. Use it in small doses, like a powder room backsplash or as the supporting color in a mosaic design, to add a touch of whimsy to your space—or, go all in and embrace the dreamy shade with a statement installation. Our Amethyst Ceramic Tile is a perfect choice for this aesthetic.
