From tile donations to good causes to volunteer work, at Fireclay Tile we like to give back to our community, both near and far. Which is why we are thrilled about our partnership with Detroit Prep. With a little help from our slip-resistant glazes, this incredible school will have durable, beautiful tile that its current and future students will enjoy for years to come.

Established in 2016, Detroit Prep's mission is to, "provide a world-class, equitable education that will give all students a foundation of academic excellence and character development while fostering a love of learning and passion for exploring and fulfilling their extraordinary potential as learners, leaders, and world-changers." Which is a mission we can definitely get behind.
After only two years, they are one of the highest performing schools in Detroit, with students averaging 140% of the national average growth in year, which puts them in the 99th percentile nationwide!
Detroit Prep quickly outgrew their initial space and found their dream school only one mile away. This 110 year old building has great bones and room to grow as the school continues to add another grade level each year.

Detroit Prep chose a colorful trifecta of slip-resistant glazes in Sorbet, Crater Lake Matte, and Raven Matte for one of their bathrooms. These colors add a pop of fun to students' days while providing critical traction underfoot, even in high-traffic areas.
