Property Brothers: Salton Sea Luxury Bathroom Floor
Every year, the U.S. building industry generates 500-million tons of waste in the form of construction and demolition debris.1 That’s the equivalent of 563 Golden Gate Bridges!
In San Francisco alone, construction and demolition debris account for ~30% of landfill waste.2 And we’re part of the problem, too. But we can also be part of the solution.

We’re putting an end to waste at our Aromas, CA factory. Why? Because our planet depends on it.
To be considered Zero Waste, we must have a 90% waste diversion rate. This will be measured by a third-party audit to keep us truly accountable. While finding ways to close the loop on our manufacturing practices has put our creativity to the test, we’re determined to make waste a thing of the past.
Zero Waste by 2023
Eliminate single-use plastic from production
Reuse 100% of our tile scraps
We’re thrilled to have been selected by San Benito County as the 2022 Green Business of the Year! Since 1986, we’ve worked to find the most sustainable ways to manufacture our products and run our business, and couldn’t be prouder to be recognized and honored by the County for this work. This award is a testament to our team’s commitment to sustainability, including our materials, carbon offsets, future planned solar (coming later in 2022!), and more.

Zero Waste means nothing without the data to back it up. That’s why every week we weigh the amount of waste produced and how much is incorporated back into manufacturing.
Since 2012, we’ve been offsetting our carbon footprint alongside our Zero Waste initiatives. By eliminating carbon emissions not only at our factory but also on inbound and outbound emissions and the materials we bring in, we’re doing our part to close the loop on carbon for good.
Sustainability goes beyond our factory. To be truly sustainable, we must also hold our manufacturing partners accountable. Our Supplier Code of Conduct outlines the minimum expectations that must be met by all of our vendors and suppliers.
Our work goes beyond tile. We make it our business to have a positive impact on our community and our planet.
We use business as a force for good.
