Getting Down to Earth

As Californians, we’re no strangers to the desert’s earthy and unadorned beauty. So we looked to the landscape that has captivated artists for centuries to create our own dreamy desert palette.

Perfecting the Palette

To capture the desert’s nuanced hues, we went to our Innovation Lab to experiment with various color blends and sheens. Once a glaze test is mixed, it’s poured onto a test tile and then fired in one of our production kilns. We do many rounds of testing until we’ve refined every color.
