Salesforce
San Francisco, CAThe Vision: Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff sought to inject vibrant, playful energy into the East Tower, drawing inspiration from Japanese artist Shinji Murakami’s pixel-art aesthetic.
Our Collaboration: We translated Shinji's artwork into over 5,000 square feet of 2x2 Ceramic Tile. This complex mosaic utilized 15 custom glaze colors and a precise mapping workflow, ensuring every pixel-perfect detail was realized in tile.
The Legacy: The colorful installation became the visual foundation for the San Francisco office and led to a global rollout. Our custom murals are now the standard for Salesforce offices around the world.
LaGuardia Airport Terminal B
East Elmhurst, NYThe Vision: Renowned artist Laura Owens brought us her monumental vision for Terminal B: a vibrant, large-scale mosaic titled "I🍕NY” featuring 80 iconic references that capture the spirit of NYC, including the Apollo Theater, the Stonewall Inn, a MetroCard, and of course, pizza.
Our Collaboration: This nine-month partnership required intense effort, including the development of custom glazes specific to Owens’ palette. We created numerous mosaic maps that our team used to hand-sheet the massive installation. Because this install occurred during COVID-19, the artist approved all 625,000 tiles remotely via video and photo documentation.
The Legacy: At 25,000 square feet, "I🍕NY" is one of the largest mosaics in the world, taking up the largest interior wall in LaGuardia.
Mokuyobi
Los Angeles, CAThe Vision: For their Los Angeles flagship store, Mokuyobi sought an interior that matched their brand's vibrant, whimsical personality. The goal was to create an immersive, nostalgic experience using a large-scale mosaic that incorporated bold patterns, wayfinding arrows, and the brand's signature imagery.
Our Collaboration: We translated their unique artwork into a comprehensive floor and wall mosaic using 2x2 Mosaic Tile. The design required precise mapping of six custom glaze colors for both graphic wayfinding and bold patterns.
The Legacy: The result is an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind retail environment that perfectly captures the essence of the Mokuyobi brand.
