Step Inside A Renovated Historic Brownstone
The Brownstone Boys are experts at modernizing historic brownstones while retaining the original charm these homes are renowned for. This particular home, full of eclectic and colorful design, was lovingly dubbed “Bed-Stuy Brownie” by Barry and Jordan based on its location in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn.
Imbued with the perfect touch of moody drama, the modern geometric kitchen boasts clean lines from the sleek cabinets to the wood accents to the vertically stacked Basalt Tile backsplash–with a wallpapered accent wall to soften the strong lines.

This bathroom brings the bold color. With blue wainscoting and cactus wallpaper lining the walls, the Brownstone Boys grounded this maximalist space with a floor of earthy Hexite Tile in Antique.

On the other hand, the bathroom below is all about classic restraint–until you step through the arched shower door. Scalloped Ogee Drop Tile in an ombre selection of sea-worthy hues creates some serious mermaid magic.

Tour A Midcentury Treehouse
Designer Claire Thomas made this 1959 post-and-beam treehouse shine with Handmade Tile and Brick. The eye-catching fireplace exudes minimalist magnificence throughout the open-concept house and is beautiful from every angle thanks to the glossy Columbia Plateau Brick cladding its Tetris-like shape.

On the other side of the fireplace, the sunny kitchen is pure happiness. A backsplash of Mosaic Ceramic Tile in golden Haystack coordinates with the yellow-speckled terrazzo, while the straight-set grid pattern of the tile encapsulates the midcentury canyon vibe of the home.

The playful walls of the kids' bathroom make bathtime the best time of day. Claire crafted an oversize polka dot pattern with our Handpainted Fallow Tile in a custom colorway that makes the space positively pop.

Pulling inspiration straight from the view out the window, the large primary bathroom is a force of nature. 2x6 Ceramic Tile in Evergreen mirrors the greenery outside while providing a striking complement to the copper soaking tub and terrazzo.

Celebrate Black Joy in the Mae House
LaTonya Yvette had a clear intention in mind when she purchased her 172-year-old colonial-style house in New York: equity. The thoughtfully renovated home is a space for BIPOC to rest and find joy surrounded by nature (and plenty of Fireclay Tile!) with free residency programs and sliding scale rates.
That joy starts as soon as you walk into the Mae House with a cheerful entryway greeting you with a light pink foyer and 6” Hexagon Tile in warm white Feldspar across the floor.

LaTonya designed the kitchen around the vintage-inspired checkerboard floor made from 12x12 Ceramic Tile in Feldspar and Red Rock. A backsplash of timeless Hunter Green squares grounds the natural brightness in this thoughtfully appointed space.

The family-friendly green bathroom takes you on a journey under the sea thanks to the vintage-inspired hue of Sea Glass Tile along the walls and complementing green 3” Hexagons on the floor.

Care for a soak? An inviting clawfoot tub perched atop 6” Hexagon Tile graces the primary suite, next to a jewel box of a bathroom with yellow Glass Tile across the floor and wainscot.

Check Out Lake Placid Lodge
Nobody designs covetable vacation rentals quite like Autumn Hachey, and Lake Placid Lodge in Whistler, BC is no exception. Fresh yet timeless checkerboard tile in muted colorways flows throughout the condo, creating a chic vibe that will make you feel like you’re in California rather than Canada.
Checks are visible as soon as you walk into the condo, where you’re greeted by a 3x3 Mosaic Tile backsplash and countertop with a waterfall edge in a cool grey and white motif.

The pattern is repeated in the powder room with the scale increased. Here, a checkered floor of 6x6 Tile in the same colors as the tile in the kitchen complements tile wainscoting in the otherwise monochromatic space.

The full bath goes full monochromatic, with floor-to-ceiling mossy green 4x4 Tile outlined in a contrasting grout adding depth and interest. We love how the checkerboard pattern is brought in with a coordinating bath mat.

Marvel At A Brick Masterpiece
This work of art by Design Bitches is an ode to midcentury modernism expressed through brick. Sprawling across the floor, turquoise San Gabriel Brick adds texture and color to this attractive space while the Black Hills Brick fireplace creates a stunning focal point in the living room.

On the other side of the fireplace, the brick floor continues into the kitchen with one vertical row installed as a coordinating backsplash. We love how the brick complements the warm wood accents and sleek navy cabinets.

Brick is also prominently featured in the bathroom, surrounding the copper soaking tub and shower walls with beautiful color variation in a vertically stacked installation.

Dip A Toe into Desert Living
With only 400 square feet to work with and no bathroom in sight, the Joshua Tree House turned their 1930’s homestead cabin into a functional and beautiful retreat. Hexagon Tile in our desert-inspired Tumbleweed glaze spreads across the floor from the entry to the open bedroom through the living room and kitchen area.

We love how the Hexagon Tile subtly echoes the look of the stone fireplace in the living room (one of the only original features Sara and Rich kept in this remodel!) while providing a cool base to walk on in the desert heat.

Remember the no-bathroom situation? That was remedied with this gorgeous oasis, featuring a modern walk-in shower outfitted with custom Handpainted Tile that creates an opulent pattern across the floor and baseboards (available in our Quick Ship Shop while supplies last!).

Go Retro in the Foxcroft Estate
Emily Vallely-Pertzborn transformed her 1948 Des Moines vacation home into a tile paradise, filled with inspiring color combinations and unexpected tile pairings. Take this Art Deco-style bathroom that features complementing tile borders along the wainscot and a black, white, and mint Large Diamond Tile floor in an optically alluring Escher pattern.

The kitchen is chock-full of midcentury charm thanks to the lovely 8x8 Ceramic Tile checkerboard floor in matte white and a sumptuous restrained red.

Another Art Deco-inspired bathroom uses Handpainted Tile to create a bold black-and-white grid pattern in the shower, offset by minty-hued hexagons on the floor. And kudos to the Foxcroft team for preserving the original pink tile uncovered during the renovation!

Tile: Dot Dash 1 in Charcoal Motif, 3x6 in Sea Glass, 3” Hexagon in Sea Glass // Design + Image: Foxcroft Estate
Since the home doubles as a beautiful event space, Emily designed an equally beautiful bridal suite complete with a Dorothy Draper-inspired checkerboard floor made from Handpainted Squiggle Tile in Charcoal Motif.

With two stripes of yellow tile, the otherwise green shower in the basement bathroom is injected with a retro feel that matches the energy of the coordinating floral wallpaper.

Arguably the most fun space in this beautiful home, the basement tiki bar shines with bright tile in tropical colors, including a stunning Scalene Triangle Tile floor in Desert Bloom and Palm Tree. Who else is craving a Mai Tai?
