Architecture Scholarship for Black Women

Architecture Should Reflect the Society it Serves

But some groups are vastly underrepresented in the industry—only 1% of licensed architects in the USA are Black women. We’ve partnered with the Architects Foundation for a sixth year to sponsor a Next Generation Scholarship for Black women pursuing architecture.

This year, we’re aiming to raise $45,000 to fund scholarships for two future architects. Fireclay has committed to donating $25,000—help us reach our goal by donating directly to the scholarship today.

Every Donation Has a Real-Life Impact

We've Helped 14 Women Pursue Their Passion

Over the past 5 years, we've raised nearly $300,000 with the generous support of our community. Each contribution to the scholarship goes directly toward the education of a future architect, and so far we've been able to help 14 women pursue their passion. Let's make it 16.

"Receiving this scholarship not only makes me feel seen, but inspires me even more to make my dreams and passions a reality."

How Can We Dismantle Barriers to Entry Into the Profession?

The Architects Foundation has identified three major hurdles that some architects face on the path to licensure:

  1. A lack of awareness of the profession at the K-12 level
  2. A lack of belonging due to the current demographics of the industry
  3. Particularly for Black women, disparities emerge regarding firm support for licensure, income gaps, and tuition debt

The Architects Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, EIN #59-3819154.
