Only 0.4% of Licensed Architects in the USA are Black Women

Why such a lack of diversity? According to the Architects Foundation, BIPOC architects face three major hurdles on the path to licensure:

1) A lack of awareness of the profession at the K-12 level

2) A lack of belonging due to the current demographics of the industry

3) Particularly for Black women, disparities emerge regarding firm support for licensure, income gaps, and tuition debt

We're working to change that.

Architecture Should Reflect the Society it Serves

Which is why we've partnered with the Architects Foundation for a 3rd year to sponsor a Diversity Advancement Scholarship for Black women pursuing architecture.

This year, we’re aiming to raise $75,000. Fireclay has committed to donating $25,000, and we invite you to help us reach our goal to support the education of three future architects!
