Stories: Prep School

By Kali |

Here’s to new beginnings. Embodying the fresh chill of autumn with a modern twist, our newest Story, Prep School greets the season with vintage inspiration partnered and delightfully youthful whimsy. Envisioned by Fireclay Tile Design Consultant Katie Emigh, Prep School is a nostalgic homage to back-to-school style. Embracing individuality with a subtle nod to convention, it’s everything you love about The Breakfast Club with a grown-up Mad Men touch.

Consider this your Prep School study guide. Our Prep School Sample Pack includes Frost, Morning Thaw, Jade, Mustard Seed, Navy Blue, and Chaine Homme in White Wash.

We're sharing design tips and inspiration below, but if you'd like more, head to our Pinterest Board

Lookin' Sharp
Look to the classics. Timeless textile patterns like argyle and plaid can inspire the most unique tile designs.

Fireplace Perfection
The official season of the fireplace is quickly approaching, but a fireplace is a permanent fixture in a home, so make it something you'll love all year round. All of the colors (and the Chaine Homme shape) featured in this Story are all top contenders for this application

A vintage marbled fireplace set against a dark and dreamy Navy offset tile leaves us burning with envy.

Just the right shade of chartreuse with a velvety matte finish, Mustard Seed is our go-to-hue for retro style. It's muted tone makes it the perfect hearth-warming color as well:

Dynamic Duo (or trio)
Contrasting colors can add new dimensions to your chosen pattern. It's easy to do with this palette, these four colors are the dream team when paired together as a quartet.

Modern Classics
All it takes is an accent color to bring a piece of Prep School home; any of these four colors can stand alone for an impactful installation.

Navy Blue shines solo in in this studio kitchen:
