Stories: La Casa De Frida

Stories: La Casa De Frida

An artist unlike any other, Frida Kahlo was also a style icon that infused her Mexican heritage with an eclecticism all her own. Surrounding herself with sumptuous layers of color, pattern, and texture, the visionary painter was the perfect muse for our latest Story, curated by one of our talented showroom designers, Sylvia Fajen.

Celebrating her love for lush florals, vibrant textiles, and whimsical folk art, Casa de Frida weaves together a tile-inspired tapestry featuring Frida Kahlo’s iconic style. Filled to the brim with rich blues, sun-kissed yellows, pastel pinks, and earthy oranges, these handcrafted hues take on an artful flair with bold geometric patterns.

Vibrant azul walls. Earthy terra cotta floors. Bright pink blossoms. Inspired by the painter's legendary digs, our La Casa de Frida Sample Pack features 8 hand-picked colors that tell her story. We're sharing some inspiration before, but if you want more, head to our Pinterest Board.

Dare to Be Bold
Feeling bold? Channel your inner Frida and opt for energizing statement colors and playful patterns (showers can be the perfect spot to show them off):

Starry-Eyed Surprises
In true Frida fashion, a pop of pattern is all it takes to bring personality to a space. Try mixing colorful handpainted tiles with square tiles for your bathroom floor:

Flower Power
Frida donning one of her fabulous floral headpieces were almost as well-known as her art. Stilbite, our light pink tile, pays homage to her lush creations.

Cool and warm tones play off each other beautifully and pinks and greens are no exception. Go for soft pink walls and pair with Serpentine floor tiles like this:

A Blank Canvas
White tile is the perfect canvas for layering on colors, textures, and patterns. It’s also a timeless design solution for those with an ever-evolving style.

Neutral colors like Feldspar or Pumice allow you to add bold colors, objects and textiles to your spaces.
