“Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean. “ – John Muir
What is it about that first lilac filled waft of a summer air, and those few extra golden hours of daylight, that just beg for adventure and an open road? That carefree feeling of knowing there isn’t an inbox waiting on your attention, or a calendar full of meetings to prepare for. The opportunity to unplug, re-focus, and break free of the daily grind has us itching for adventure.
This summer we’re abandoning the studio and taking to the open road, letting California’s countryside provide us with a little inspiration and the perfect backdrop to photograph our latest glaze collection. There really couldn’t be a better place to pay homage to our deep roots in tile than surrounded by the very landscape that provides us with the materials needed to make clay. Inspired by California’s tile making heritage and it’s connection to the diverse landscape, we’re looking to the land for help naming the new additions to our Recycled tile.
For an entire week the Fireclay Tile creative team will be on the road, visiting some of California’s iconic landscapes, producing content, taking photographs and checking in with some friends old and new along the way. We expect there will be a few forks in the road, lots of lost connection to the digital world, and if we play our cards right, some great stories to tell. Be sure to keep up with us on the journey at
