Shape Spotlight: Kite

Today's shape spotlight is Kite; its pinwheel-inspired arrangement gives its silhouette a playful appeal. One of our larger specialty field sizes, this shape makes for a dynamic wall or floor pattern. Choose a multicolored palette for a mesmerizing kaleidoscopic effect or go monochrome for a subtly graphic touch. We're sharing design ideas and inspiration below.

Geometric floor tile is always a good idea. Kites work beautifully for a bathroom floor, in either a neutral or bold color:

You can treat Kites much like you would a hexagon in terms of floor tile:

Imagine a look like the one above but with Kites in Basalt. Like hexagons, this shape pairs easily with field tile.

Kites also work well for kitchen backsplashes, as you can see from the install below:

We're also big fans of white geometric tile if you want a more subtle. Think of kites like you might small diamonds, but on a larger scale:
