Remodeling Trends: Ideas and Inspiration for Your 2015 Bathroom Renovation

By Shannon Malone |

If your bathroom feels a little dated, 2015 might be the perfect time to start that remodel you've been thinking about.  Similar to choosing a kitchen design, it is important to do research and make sure you know exactly what you want to accomplish before you start your bathroom renovation project.  To help get the creativity ball rolling, we've put together a list of our favorite bathroom remodel ideas and design elements that are sure to make a splash this year.

Round/hexagon mirrors

A round or hexagonal mirror is a design feature that will add custom appeal to your space.  Similar to the bathroom above, try placing the mirror over an interesting tile pattern to add even more visual interest.

Feature floor tiles

Feature floor tiles are perfect in the bathroom because it is a relatively small area.  The patterned tile will add style and character to your space without overwhelming it.  The bathroom below creates a coastal theme with our Ogee Drop shape in a blend of 3 cool blue hues on the floor.

Freestanding bathtubs

Freestanding bathtubs are both on trend and timeless, and we don't see them going anywhere anytime soon.  Both beautiful and functional, a freestanding tub offers your space a spa-like quality, and almost becomes an art piece in the room.

Custom vanities

Just like custom tile, other custom design features will be a trend in 2015 as well.  The vanity is the perfect design element to custom.  Not only can you customize it to match your style, but you can adjust your vanity to fit your specific needs.

Bigger showers

Bigger showers are sure to make a statement in 2015.  Walk-in showers with large panes glass doors opens up the space.  Similar to the bathroom below, add interesting tile for a pop of color.

Grout as a design feature

Don't forget about your grout line when choosing tile for you bathroom.  The color and thickness you choose can make just as big of a statement as the tile itself.  Make sure you choose something that stands out as a design feature but also complements your tile.

Black tile

The bathroom is the perfect place to try out dark and dramatic features.  Instead of a classic subway tile, opt for a bold black hue in a more contemporary size or shape.
