Photographer Jennifer Chong of See and Savour chose our 2" Hexagons in Gypsum for her picture perfect kitchen renovation. With the goal of creating an updated, modern space for cooking and dining that was more true to her style, this small kitchen got a refresh that has timeless appeal. We talked to Jennifer about her style, the renovation and of course, the tile (they installed it themselves FYI)!
First a bit about Jennifer:

My best design advice would be...Invest in pieces you love.
I love tile because....It adds personality to a room.
Now, onto your kitchen:
Was this project a remodel or a renovation? What were your goals for the space? What did you want to change?
We did a full kitchen renovation, but the layout stayed true to the original. We wanted to create an updated modern space for cooking and dining that felt true to our styles.
How did you come up with your overall color scheme and design of your kitchen?
After years of pinning kitchen inspiration, I knew I wanted a white kitchen but didn't want it to feel cold. We ordered a lot of samples to see in our actual kitchen to help us decide what we wanted – it's amazing how different light can make things appear!
In terms of tile, what sort of look were you going for?
I wanted something that was subtle but also unique with a splash of color.
What made you choose our 2" hexagons?
While I love the timeless look of subway tile, I knew I wanted to do something a little different. The 2'' hexagon was the perfect fit for our small kitchen.
How about the color Gypsum?
We looked at a few different tile color options throughout the day in our kitchen. Ultimately fell in love with Gypsum, it had a perfect matte finish and provided the perfect amount of color.
How did the installation process go? Did you face any challenges?
We went back and forth on hiring an installer or doing it ourselves. Ultimately we decided to install it ourselves and we are really happy with how it turned out! We had a bit of a learning curve but once we had a process it went by faster.
Lastly, which of our colors/shapes/patterns are you hoping to use on any future projects?
I'd love to add some tiles to our outdoor space – I've been eyeing Harvest for a fun bold pattern. And if we ever get the chance to add a 2nd bathroom I'd love the Picket Braided in Snow White!
