What’s the Difference Between Original Ceramic and Natural Press Ceramic?
Our two high-quality ceramic product lines are similarly versatile, durable, and beautiful, but have some key differences. Original Ceramic, crafted in our Aromas, CA factory, follows a traditional ceramic manufacturing process of extrusion, drying, kiln-firing, glazing, and a second firing. It exhibits higher levels of intrinsic color variation and crackled detailing. Natural Press is single-fired via a natural press method in our Spokane, WA factory, which is a more efficient and cost-effective process. Natural Press tile tends to be more uniform in color.
Due to the differing manufacturing processes, we do not recommend blending Original Ceramic and Natural Press on the same surface. However, a Natural Press floor and Original Ceramic wall in the same space is perfectly fine.
