Design Trends: Tiling with Our Runway Collection

Inspired by centuries of fashion, designer Kelly LaPlante, created the three shapes from our Runway Collection to reflect timeless patterning in clothing and jewelry. Since their inception a few years back, we've enjoyed seeing them being used more and more. From kitchen backsplashes to bathroom floors, these tiles add interest and a graphic element to any space.

Below, we're sharing some of our favorite installations, along with design ideas:

Chaine Homme:
Chaine Homme's interlocking geometric design is inspired by the links found in vintage watches. This shape is at home in nearly any application, whether you want to make a statement with your kitchen backsplash, fireplace, walls or flooring.

An all white kitchen can gain texture from an intricate shape like Chaine Homme:

This shape is ideal for a bathroom floor, as all the grout joints can create grip in a damp environment.

A blend in this shape has big impact. Try two to three colors for a tiled backsplash or accent wall.

Chaine Femme:
Inspired by chainemail, this geometric shape makes a statement in any space. Whether you go all white or in a bold color, this pattern leaves a lasting impression (it also looks good set both vertically or horizontally).

This intricate pattern works beautifully for walls, but can also be used as flooring (all those grout joints would make for really bathroom friendly, no slip, flooring).

If you want the pattern to speak for itself, go for a white or neutral and choose a matching grout color:

Cravate:
A bold take on the classic houndstooth pattern, this unique shape exudes a fresh, playful feeling. Installed vertically, horizontally or at an angle, you're sure to have fun with our Cravate.

This shape adds interest to a backsplash, whether in a neutral or a more saturated hue.

We would love to see this shape installed as flooring:
