Color Spotlight: Olivine

Color Spotlight: Olivine

Tile Shown: 6" Triangles in Olivine

Image: Popham Design

The perfect transition from summer to fall? A warm yellow tile that’s equal parts sunny and earthy. Olivine, one of our newest hues, is just the accent color you want to add brightness to any design. Whether it’s in an unexpected pattern or big statement, we’ll show you how Olivine gives spaces a playful twist (check out our Pinterest Board for even more inspiration).

Kitchen

Tile Shown: 3x6 in Halite

We’d like to see more Olivine in the kitchen, which feels just right for working up an appetite. It also makes for a great color pairing with a light gray hue like Halite. Consider using both in your favorite tile pattern--we love how it shows up here in Star & Cross.

A little patch of countertop tile adds an unexpected touch to this modern kitchen, perfect for showcasing food and drink.

A restaurant or kitchen bar wrapped in yellow tile is just what you need to attract hungry guests and visitors. A darker color scheme can also help to make Olivine feel even more luminous.

This eye-catching bar doesn't skimp on scale or style, opting for a daring chartreuse-yellow backsplash that dares to be different.

Bathroom

Olivine gives bathrooms a sunny disposition that’s perfect for waking up your morning routine. Warm wood cabinetry adds extra texture and warmth to decor.

Even just a little Olivine can make a big design impact. We love how this square diamond tile pattern uses rays of yellow to add dynamic flair.

But why stop at squares? Escher-inspired diamond tile has made a strong showing in recent months, and is a great pattern for experimenting with color combinations like this arresting gray, white, and yellow palette above.

Olivine is a great design choice for kid’s bathrooms, too. And there's nothing like large hexagon wall and floor tile for an extra fun detail.
