Color Spotlight: Keep It Cool with Crater Lake

Fireclay Tile Inspiration Gallery: Emily Henderson's Big Reveal

Tile Shown: Ogee Drop in Crater Lake

This refreshing blue tile's claim to fame is being featured in Emily Henderson's very own master bathroom remodel. Crater Lake, an engobe glaze tile with a bit of crazing for a refreshing take on traditional pastels. Whether it's paired with bright white cabinets, warm wood finishes, or chic, gold-finished hardware, this cool blue tile lends a reviving, bespoke, and decidedly sophisticated look to your kitchen or bath.

Crater Lake adds a polished splash of color to bright neutral palettes. In the kitchen below, this soft blue herringbone pattern makes an upscale textural statement.

Crater Lake is also a take on classic baby blue, effortlessly transitioning from traditional to modern to even farmhouse-inspired kitchens. Consider using it to accent a stovetop backsplash--we love how this kitchen's hooded stove uses tile to frame its recessed shelving (because stylish storage is always a design win).

The designers for Coastal Living's 2016 Showhouse used Crater Lake and Caribbean for this pool house kitchen's backsplash and Hexagon floor tile. Tile is also a smart design solution for spaces where you can expect plenty of water foot traffic.

This bathroom tile's refreshing take on baby blue lends softness to the space's heavily linear design, while a square straight set pattern helps to reinforce contemporary elements. Mix in golden hardware and warm wood finishes to add thoughtfully contrasting textures.

The sustainable food pioneers behind one of San Francisco's best restaurants, The Perennial, features Crater Lake in the form of wainscotting along its outer bathroom wall.
