Our Glazed Thin Brick in Scarlet

Valentine's Day–You either love it, or you hate it, either way our color spotlight this week is red hot! Infused with a rich splash of color, our fiery red Glazed Thin Brick color, Scarlet is not for the faint of heart. With subtle touches of variation and rich, weathered texture, our red brick is sure to make a bold statement. Wondering how to use this vibrant hue? We have a few ideas that will leave you smitten with Scarlet.

Scarlet is one of those hues that looks great in moderation. With a strong demand for attention, we think it looks best when used as an accent color. We suggest using Scarlet as a backsplash, a fireplace surround, or a wall you would like to highlight. Where ever Scarlet is used it becomes the center of attention, so be absolutely sure of the area you want to highlight! Once you decide where to use Scarlet, try pairing the bold and beautiful hue with our favorite contemporary neutrals, such as our Glazed Thin Brick colors Cotton and Alcatraz.

Scarlet will also look great paired with wood finishes and industrial metals such as steel and iron. We have fallen in love with the way the designers of this contemporary home covered an entire wall with a similiar red brick, and extended it to the exterior, framed by steel. the wood accents add warmth to the decor, creating an inviting space you'd love to cozy up to.

Have commitment issues? We get it, tile is long-term, and tying yourself down to one color is a big decision. In this case we suggest using a red similar to our Scarlet hue on a less permanent surface, and pair it with a neutral tile you'll never tire of. We love how this kitchen painted their cabinets a bold and vibrant red while sticking to our Glazed Thin Brick in our contemporary neutrals, Cotton and Snow. If they ever decide red is not the color for them they can simply re-paint! And trust us, re-painting is much easier that switching out your tile!
