Meet Norman
Our new Norman size measures in at 11-1/2" L x 2-1/2" W x 1/2", for a long and slender Brick that emphasizes horizontal lines.
The name Norman comes from the Normans of Normandy whose conquests at the turn of the second millennium led them throughout Europe. With conquest came castles, and other large-scale architecture projects meant to impose upon occupied populations, architecture that eventually melded with the styles of their subjects. Such buildings required big bricks to lower the cost of mortar and construction. Born was the Norman Brick.
Since those medieval times, Norman Brick has shown up throughout history. When Norman became one of three standard Brick sizes during the 20th century, it found its way into some of the most iconic architectural designs around the world.
From Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House and V.C. Morris Gift Shop to Alvar Aalto’s Muuratsalo Experimental House, Norman Brick makes a big impression. Now it’s available for your boldest designs!

Designing with the Desert
Just in time for Norman’s big debut, we’ve introduced eight new Brick colors, available in both Norman and our Standard 2.5x8" size.
Inspired by the vast deserts of the American West, these hand-applied glazes capture the spirit of adventure and soothing nature of these spectacular landscapes.
Brick Shown, L-R: Zion, Antelope Canyon, Mojave, Sedona, Arches, Saguaro, Badlands, and Joshua Tree
From Joshua Tree to the Badlands, we’re covering more ground than a summer road trip, delivering desert vibes wherever you see fit. Each earthy hue is a natural choice when your project calls for a neutral with personality.
