Lustre Estudio

According to founder Annie Alarcon, Lustre is “the sparkle that symbolizes our passion for creating.”

Lustre Estudio is a creative space in which the following converge: the love for ceramic processes, the connection with the earth, and the responsible use of its resources, in order to promote an appreciation for ceramics.

We sat down with Annie to catch up on everything Lustre has been up to in the past year and learn more about how she incorporates her heritage and culture into her work.

Perro y Arena

Perro y Arena, or "Dog and Sand," is a ceramics studio based in Baja California Norte, México that finds inspiration in the local flora and fauna of Baja. In the enchanting prose of founder Sócrates Medina, “Perro y Arena is an invitation for us to dance with coyotes and hares while we sing to the moon.”

At Fireclay, we're on a mission to do good by crafting a richly colorful array of high-quality tiles intentionally, collaboratively, and transparently.

For us, making tile is about more than just playing with color. It’s about the earth. We dig our hands into the dirt and feel a connection to the past, to our history, and to our need for shelter.
