Glaze Colors

Claymonde glazes are designed to be glossy and to have a contemporary look. Each piece of Claymonde is glazed individually by hand in our Northern California factory* and shade variation may occur, though we designed the product to feature far less shade variation than any of our other products. Because of the nature of our natural glazes and high firing temperatures, some speckles, small dots and dimples may appear on the glaze surface. The high-fired glazes are an important aspect of Claymonde. Since the tiles are so big, it is important that the handmade look of the glaze impart warmth and character to the tile.

  • Claymonde is now offered in 14 standard glaze colors. We glaze Claymonde in our factory in Northern California.
  • Custom colors are available. There is a $350 color development fee. Five to ten working days are needed to produce custom samples. A four-week lead-time is necessary to produce custom orders after color approval.
