At Fireclay we only use glazes we developed, using all natural materials that are lead free and produce no off-gases. All glazes are tested before production by our Glaze Master.
The old world firing methods we use give our glaze colors tremendous depth and richness you will not find in any other tile. This unique, rich, and vibrant glaze character is what differentiates us from other ceramic tile products and is what truly makes Fireclay Tile unique.
Due to the highly crackled nature of the Vitrail series glazes, the tiles are sealed at the factory. We recommend that a penetrating sealer be applied every 6 months for the first year and annually thereafter. Coffee, juices and other spilled liquids may stain the tile if unsealed.
Fireclay Tile is handmade, meaning glaze colors can and will vary. This natural glaze color variation is something we take pride in, and it will ensure your order is unique and special.

Custom colors are available. There is a $350 color development fee. Five to ten working days are needed to produce custom samples. At least a four-week lead-time is necessary to produce custom orders after color approval.
