Some variation in shape and size is to be expected given the handmade nature of our tile.
We have the ability to produce custom sizes and shapes depending on the project. A set-up fee may apply.
We offer a wide range of trim to complement any project. Trim is available in either our Debris or Vitrail Series clay bodies and colors. Custom trim pieces can be produced if needed, additional charge may apply. Sizes below are nominal.
Over 70 different moldings are available. The standard length is six inches. Four- inch length molding pieces are also available and are priced the same as six- inch moldings. Eight-inch and twelve-inch moldings are special order items.
Each molding style has a letter or number designation. Molding cap pieces are available for most of the molding styles. The word “cap” after the molding means the piece can be used as a vanity or kitchen cap. The drop of the cap varies depending on the molding piece. The edge cap generally has a one-inch lip, though we have done our best to give exact measurements. If the pieces are to be used as a wainscot, the cap lip can be made smaller. When ordering, please specify your exact requirements.
During the firing process the glaze will run and pool in the lower recesses on molding pieces, especially those with curved surfaces, causing some color variation. Debris and Vitrail Series glazes appear light and dark depending on the manner in which the glaze pools on each molding piece.
Hand-pressed ropes are available in either our Debris or Vitrail Series glaze colors. Due to the old-world techniques used to make the ropes, please expect variation in size and straightness. During the firing process the glaze will run and pool in the lower recesses, creating lighter and darker areas on each piece. Fireclay’s unique “rubbed” technique is also available on ropes.
