Testimonials

We found this tile shop on the recommendation of a tile professional - who told us the tile was "really good, and reasonably priced". We are working on a remodel of two bathrooms in a beach house - wanting to find tile we love (hand made, rustic, beautiful) but not having much time or budget to work with since we sort of ripped out the kitchen/baths on a whim. Sounds impossible, right?
The "Boneyard" at Fireclay Tile is a treasure hunters playground. I spent several hours in three separate visits scouring the piled-high boxes and tables - and with the cheerful help of the staff, was able to find amazing tile for both bathrooms. Gorgeous hand-glazed ceramic tiles, using environmentally friendly glazes, rich and beautiful decorative tiles, and incredibly also enough of the edge pieces to complete our project. IF you find something that works well in the Bone Yard, you simply cannot beat the price! Trims for $1 each tile, for example. Inventory is, of course, an odd assortment, but we found plenty of great options for our small-ish projects.
The staff inside the showroom was also lovely - helping us to order the odd corner, edge and trim pieces that we needed to properly complete the projects, sending control samples—and asking the vendor to make them on a 'rush' basis for us to meet our timeline. What impressed me most about Fireclay, is that the staff was universally friendly and helpful - despite the fact that I was mostly shopping from the "boneyard". They were fun to work with (they all seem to really enjoy their jobs!), and professional in their follow-up on a number of things during my treasure hunt. They also have some really special items - that I hadn't seen elsewhere.
I highly recommend this business on it’s own - but all the more so in comparison to some of the other tile showrooms I've been to which were sterile, a bit uptight, and not always too helpful. Fireclay staff never tried to 'sell' me anything, they just helped. ~ Michele W. (Menlo Park, CA) - April 2010
