Color Spotlight: Cool Off With Santorini Blue

Our Tile in Santorni Blue

Reminding us of the ocean, clear sunny skies, and a sense of tranquility, blue is one of those colors that will never really go out of style.  The same can be said for our Tile color Santorini Blue, a rich cobalt hue inspired by the signature azure roofs and balconies that dot the Grecian islands.  We all love a great blue, but you may be wondering how to incorporate this cool hue into your space, so here are a few helpful tips on how to make Santorini Blue, or any rich cobalt hue work for you.

The Great Outdoors

One of our favorite uses for a rich blue like Santorini is the pool.  The crystal clear water will put even more emphasis on this already highly saturated cobalt blue.  Sounds pretty dreamy, right?

Make a Splash With Color

If you are feeling brave and want to liven up your neutral interior with color, try using Santorini as a kitchen backsplash.  This small area provides just enough color to make a statement without overpowering the rest of your interior.  With a rich color like Santorini Blue keep in mind that less is always more.  We love how this kitchen installation hints at a nautical aesthetic by pairing a rich cobalt blue tile with an almost all white interior and soft wooden accents.

The Dynamic Duo

Santorni Blue and custom Handpainted tiles go hand in hand.  To create this look we suggest using a standard square field tile with a small accent area of handpainted tile.  Choose a handpainted design that has a hint of cobalt blue in the pattern, as well as other colors that pair well with this rich hue–think oranges, yellows, greens and varying shades of blue.
