For 2009 Fireclay Tile has added 16 new, beautiful glaze colors to our Debris Series to bring the total offering to 112 all natural, lead free glaze colors. Fireclay’s Debris Series is the largest offering of ceramic tile containing more than 50% recycled content, and the only ceramic tile containing a majority of recycled material that is post-consumer waste. Our Debris Series uses all locally sourced recycled materials along with sustainable manufacturing practices that additionally incorporate our own recycled waste clay, glaze, heat, and water.
BottleStone, the revolutionary hard surface material using more than 80% post-consumer waste, was awarded the California Cleantech Open’s Grand Prize in the Green Building Materials category and $100,000. BottleStone was invented by Fireclay’s Founder Paul Burns and Bob Kirby and is a ceramic based product that uses no Portland-based cement and functions like granite and marble.
Fireclay Tile attended the GreenBuild Expo in Boston, MA. As part of the most pioneering, leading edge companies in the green building sector, Fireclay highlighted our Debris Series and BottleStone product. For more information on GreenBuild please visit: www.greenbuild.com
